The central idea of my concentration is to focus on the trials and triumphs in single-parent families. I’m inspired from my own personal experiences and memories growing up as a single child with only one parent, and I wish to highlight the strong bond formed between a parent and a child. As a result, I want to provide a new perspective on the daily life of a parent and child as they navigate simple, yet difficult, tasks, such as, going to school or paying bills, while celebrating simple victories that others may take for granted. My concentration wants to illustrate an accurate portrayal by balancing simple, yet joyful moments with moments of hardship.
